Our workshop will take you out into the woodland with green woodworker James Robertson where you will learn how to safely cut and create your own walking stick in a way that is careful of and sensitive to the environment.
All instruction, tools and materials will be provided for you to create your own unique hand carved walking stick. You will be given instructions on how to ‘finish’ your stick after it has dried at home for a few days and you will leave with a small pack of materials to do this. Suitable for anyone over 16 with reasonable wrist and hand strength. James has been carving for 20 years and is a member of Kent Bodgers. He teaches at various venues throughout the southeast and is a dedicated green woodworker. All materials and light refreshments are provided. We’ll pause for a break, so please bring a packed lunch.
