Background to Angling...

Angling or Fishing has been a sport as well as away of catching food for many, many years. The basic equipment needed is a rod with fishing line, bait and a hook on the end of the fishing line.

The sport is very popular attraction within the Borough of Swale, with the presence of many fishing lakes where you can catch bass, garfish, eels, skate, plaice, dogfish, cod, flounders and much more.

It will be worth checking with the clubs, organisation or owners if you need permits or to join their organisation, they have any open sessions you can join in with. There are fantastic lakes in Sittingbourne, Faversham and Sheppey as well as the opportunity for sea fishing from the Isle of Sheppey.

COVID-19

All activities offered by clubs overseen by a National Governing Body will be required to adhere to new procedures to protect participants. The Angling Trust is working with Sport England to support providers to get back to activities.
