Background to Golf...

Golf is an activity that requires a large area of land with participants hitting a ball with golf clubs that have different designs to help hit the ball further. It is an individual sport with each player aiming to hit the ball from the stating position (Tee box) and getting it into a hole on the specified putting green, each course will have 18 holes and each player is looking to hit as fewer goes or shots to get the ball in the hole.

Golf's history goes back to the 15th century in Scotland and since then it has developed a strong amateur and professional game with tournaments all over the world.

As you can imagine for an area like Swale that is surrounded by fantastic green countryside there are a number of well established Golf Clubs and venues in Swale that welcome members and or visitors to play golf, use their driving range for practice and provide lessons.

As with all clubs do call before hand to check availability.
