Opportunities in Swale...

There are a number of clubs and organisations providing opportunities in Swale -

Remember to contact the club/organisation before you attend to ask any questions you have on their activities.

Background to Triathlons...

There are a few variations within the distances undertaken during the activity but a traditional Triathlon event combines Swimming, Running and Cycling with particpants competing against each other in all three disciplines. It can trace its beginnings to the 1920's but the current popular form was developed in the 1970's.

More than anything it is an endurance race with individuals taking part in all three discplines generally following directly after each other, although some team events split the disciplines between three people. There are a number of variations to provide a range of opportunities for all levels of ability and the launch of the Go Tri programme aims to create a better understanding of the activity and open it up to new participants.

Triathlons are organised all over the world with local events organised by a range of providers alongside international competitions that are included in the Olympics and Paralympics.

COVID-19

All activities offered by clubs that are overseen by a National Governing Body will be required to adhere to new procedures to protect participants. British Triathlon is working with Sport England to support providers to get back to activities.
